Travel Registered Nurse - OR Circulator

Days (6:30 AM - 5:00 PM or 6:30 AM - 7:00 PM) with call required.

Job Description

The Operating Room Nurse demonstrates critical thinking skills, scientific judgment, and leadership in the anticipation and planning for the care of the patient in the operating room. As a member of the surgical team, the RN works with Surgeons, Anesthesiologists, ORTs, and other personnel to provide patient care in the Operating Room according to State Nurse Practice Act, AORN, and regulatory standards, physician orders, and policies and procedures of the Hospital and the Surgical Department.

Responsibilities

• Ensure supplies and equipment are available and ready for surgical cases.
• Monitor the timeliness of cases and update physician preference cards.
• Communicate effectively with families regarding surgical procedures.
• Scrub and assist physicians during surgical cases.
• Supervise personnel delivering patient care in the operating room.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• 2+ years of experience as a Registered Nurse in the Operating Room.
• Strong experience in Ortho, Neuro, Robotics, ENT, General Surgery, Urology, Vascular, and Gyn.
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications are required.
• Cerner experience is required; CNOR certification preferred.
• AHCA Fingerprinting required for all Florida travelers prior to start date.
• Expectation to float between campuses as needed.
