Nights, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse is a vital member of the patient care team, responsible for the delivery of direct and indirect patient care through the nursing process in the Emergency Department. The RN will work in all areas of the unit, including the Cecile J. Coulomb Emergency Center and the separate Chest Pain Center.

Responsibilities

• Assessing patients upon admission and throughout their stay
• Administering IV medications, therapy, and blood as needed
• Providing patient education and documenting nursing care actions, observations, and patient responses
• Willingness and ability to work as a charge nurse and preceptor as needed

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• At least 2 years of experience in the Emergency Department setting
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
• 1+ year of previous critical care nursing experience required
• Candidates with a history of licensure hits or background actions will not be accepted
