Charge RN - Intensive Care Unit

Job Description

The Charge RN for the Intensive Care Unit promotes and restores patients' health by overseeing day-to-day management and long-term planning within the patient care area. This role involves directing and developing staff, collaborating with physicians and multidisciplinary teams, and providing physical and psychological support to patients, their families, and friends.

Responsibilities

• Direct nursing human resource objectives including hiring, training, and performance management.
• Ensure adherence to operational standards and contribute information to strategic plans.
• Manage departmental budget, monitor expenditures, and identify variances.
• Establish rapport with patients and identify service requirements.
• Maintain and update nursing policies and procedures.
• Measure health outcomes and uphold quality of care standards.
• Provide emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients and families.
• Promote patient independence through education and support regarding disease management, medications, and self-care skills.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to address patient needs.
• Develop infection control protocols to safeguard patients and staff.
• Oversee the maintenance of patient care documentation and equipment inventory.
• Maintain professional knowledge through ongoing education and networking in the nursing field.

Schedule

This position requires availability for shifts on Sundays, Mondays, and Fridays from 06:00 to 18:30.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years recent Charge RN experience in an ICU setting.
• CA RN license required.
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications through the American Heart Association.

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.
