Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN)

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00 - 07:00) with weekend requirements (6 weekends per 6 weeks).

Job Description

The Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN) will provide care for patients experiencing a variety of emergencies, including but not limited to strokes, chest pain, and trauma cases. The RN will be responsible for assessment, implementing nursing interventions, and collaborating with the multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Perform thorough assessments of patients in the emergency department.
• Administer medications and treatments per protocols.
• Manage care for patients with vascular and cardiac emergencies.
• Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare staff to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Maintain accurate patient records and ensure all patient data is documented in the electronic health record (Epic).
• Provide education and emotional support to patients and families.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current RN license in the state of practice (Compact state license required).
• ACLS, PALS, BLS, NIHSS, and TNCC certifications are mandatory.
• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in an ER or trauma setting is required.
• Experience with Epic charting system is required.
