Neuro Stepdown RN - Night Shift (3x12-Hour)

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Night shift: 18:45 - 07:15. Travelers are required to work a minimum of 3 weekend shifts every six weeks.

Job Description

The Neuro Stepdown RN will provide exceptional nursing care within a specialized unit for neurological and medical intermediate patients. This position requires a strong teamwork approach and commitment to behavioral expectations during all interactions with patients and staff.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and manage patients with neurological conditions.
• Administer medications and titrate IV drips, including Levophed.
• Perform cardiac monitoring and respond to dysrhythmias.
• Care for patients with feeding tubes and perform related management tasks.
• Handle hemodialysis pre/post management and continuous bladder irrigation.
• Apply isolation precautions and adhere to hospital protocols.
• Utilize Epic for charting patient data and outcomes.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of RN experience with neuro stepdown or related critical care experience.
• Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required.
• Must be able to titrate vasoactive and cardiac drips.
• Epic experience is required.
• Experience with central line care, blood product administration, and ventilator management.
