Schedule

Night shift; 3x12-hour schedule (19:00 - 07:30). Weekend commitment required every other weekend.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse will deliver high-quality patient care in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) with a focus on respiratory care for patients requiring ventilator and tracheostomy support. The ideal candidate will have strong clinical skills and experience in managing complex medical conditions.

Responsibilities

• Provide care for ventilated and tracheostomy patients.
• Administer IV therapies, blood products, and manage central/PICC/peripheral lines.
• Perform respiratory interventions, including BiPAP/CPAP management and chest tube care.
• Conduct assessments and interpret arterial blood gases (ABGs).
• Administer medications, including cardiac drips and insulin protocols.
• Monitor telemetry and interpret dysrhythmias.
• Adhere to isolation precautions and infection control protocols.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Active NJ or Compact RN license.
• ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a PCU or similar setting.
• Experience with tracheostomy and ventilator management is essential.
• Epic charting experience required.
