Outpatient Physical Therapist Assistant

Job Description

The Outpatient Physical Therapist Assistant embodies the core values of our organization by providing superior quality patient care and fostering a safe and efficient work environment. This role is crucial in implementing treatment plans established by the Physical Therapist and ensuring compliance with all safety protocols, ultimately contributing to improved patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Implement treatment goals, plans, and programs set forth by the Physical Therapist.
• Assist in therapeutic interventions aimed at meeting patients' long-term goals such as posture training, strengthening exercises, balance exercises, and functional skills training.
• Train patients in locomotion with assistive devices and demonstrate proper safety techniques.
• Utilize various modalities for treatment including hot/cold packs, ultrasound, and therapeutic pools.
• Monitor patients’ responses and adjust treatments as necessary.
• Maintain accurate documentation of patient progress and compliance with established care protocols.
• Establish ethical working relationships with patients and collaborate with other healthcare professionals.
• Participate in team conferences and share relevant clinical information to enhance patient care.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of treatment areas and equipment.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited school.
• CAPTE Certification.
• Minimum of 1 year of outpatient clinical experience.
• Current CPR Certification.

Schedule

This position operates on a 5x8.0 shift, starting on 8/17.
