Registered Nurse - Emergency Department (Per Diem)

This position requires availability for 12-hour night shifts, specifically from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, and must include weekend work.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse is responsible for the delivery of safe patient care utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation in the Emergency Department. This role involves direct patient care within the scope of nursing practice and includes patient/family teaching as well as guiding nursing personnel. You will communicate with physicians regarding changes in patients' clinical conditions and respond quickly to changes in patient conditions.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe and effective patient care in a high-acuity environment.
• Perform assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care.
• Directly communicate changes in patient conditions to the physician.
• Provide education to patients and their families.
• Ensure compliance with EMTALA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality.
• Guide and supervise junior nursing staff as required.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current and valid state RN License.
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications (AHA or Red Cross).
• A minimum of 1 year of experience as a Registered Nurse in an acute care hospital, specifically in the Emergency Room setting.
• Behavioral Violence Prevention (BVP) certificate.
• COVID-19 vaccination preferred.
• Experience with Meditech EMR is a plus.
