Job Description

The Radiation Therapist is responsible for performing various radiation therapy treatments, simulations, treatment planning, and the fabrication of specialized treatment aides in accordance with physician prescriptions and instructions.

The individual must demonstrate knowledge of growth and development principles and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient’s status, interpreting the information needed to address each patient’s age-specific requirements and provide appropriate care.

Responsibilities

• Independently perform radiation therapy treatments and simulations.
• Execute treatment planning and fabricate specialized treatment aides.
• Assess patient data and provide age-specific care as required.
• Utilize Varian TrueBeam linear accelerator and ARIA EMR.
• Treat 25-30 patients daily using various treatment modalities including 3D, IMRT, SBRT, and electrons.
• Prepare set-ups for all treatment sites in a comprehensive cancer center.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of experience as an imaging technologist or specialist, showcasing knowledge of imaging procedures and techniques.
• Current American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification in Radiation Therapy (T).
• Current State of Hawaii Radiologic Technologist license as a Radiation Therapist.
• BLS certification required.
