Surgical Technologist - Day Shift

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Surgical Technologist to assist in a variety of tasks in the operating room that support the surgical team. This role involves preparing and maintaining a sterile environment, passing instruments to surgeons, and ensuring all necessary supplies are readily available during surgical procedures.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the operating room by setting up surgical instruments, equipment, sterile drapes, and solutions.
• Assemble both sterile and non-sterile equipment while ensuring all items are functioning properly.
• Prepare patients for surgery, ensuring aseptic incision sites are maintained.
• Assist the surgical team with gowning and gloving, and facilitate a smooth surgical workflow.
• Pass instruments and supplies to the surgical team efficiently during procedures.
• Assist with specimen care and disposal, as well as post-operative cleanup and restocking of the operating room.
• Label medications appropriately and ensure adherence to established policies for medication distribution.
• Ensure a clean, safe operating environment by maintaining alertness to safety hazards and applying aseptic technique.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• A minimum of 2 years of experience in surgical technology is required.
• Must have completed an accredited program in surgical technology or have appropriate military training.
• Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) or Tech in Surgery-Certified (TSC) is preferred.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
• Compliance with PA Act 31, 33, 34, and 73 regulations.

Schedule

This position offers a day shift, working 10 hours a day for 4 days a week. This is a 13-week contract position.
