Med/Surg Registered Nurse - Nights

Job Description

The Registered Nurse directs and coordinates members of the patient care team, focusing on the provision of individualized quality patient care consistent with state standards. The RN will develop the patient care plan in partnership with the physicians, other patient care team members, the patient, and if applicable, the patient's family. Demonstrates professional nursing practice skills of an RN utilizing the nursing process in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the care of all assigned patients, appropriate to the age of the patient i.e. pediatric, adolescent, adult, geriatric, on the unit.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement patient care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team.
• Monitor and assess patient health status and progress.
• Provide individualized nursing care to patients across various age groups.
• Promote teamwork with medical staff and personnel throughout the hospital.
• Adhere to hospital policies regarding confidentiality, sexual harassment, advance directives, and the Americans with Disabilities Act.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current licensure as an RN in the State of Maine or Authorization to Practice pending licensure by endorsement.
• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications within 6 months of hire.
• Excellent assessment, communication, computer, and documentation skills.
• Ability to function independently in a dynamic clinical environment.

Schedule

This position requires three 12-hour night shifts per week.
