Job Description

The Registered Nurse in the MSICU is responsible for providing high-quality, compassionate care to patients with critical conditions. This role requires strong critical thinking skills and the ability to perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in the Medical/Surgical Intensive Care Unit.
• Monitor and assess patient conditions, including vital signs and neurological status.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments accurately and timely.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to develop and implement care plans.
• Perform procedures such as intubations, chest tube placements, and central line insertions.
• Educate patients and their families about ongoing care needs and treatment options.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Active Texas RN License (temporary licenses not accepted).
• Minimum of 2-3 years of ICU experience.
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications.
• NIH Stroke Certification.
• Preferred experience in MICU or MSICU settings.
• Familiarity with Meditech documentation and charting system.
