This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

12-hour night shifts with weekend and holiday requirements. Scheduling is typically 36 hours per week with potential for additional hours.

Job Description

The Respiratory Therapist will provide respiratory care to patients across all age groups, including critical cases in the ICU and ED settings. The therapist will manage ventilators and provide critical respiratory interventions while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Assess and treat patients with respiratory and cardiopulmonary disorders.
• Manage mechanical ventilators and related equipment.
• Perform diagnostic tests and interpret results.
• Provide education to patients and their families regarding respiratory care.
• Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop patient care plans.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience as a Respiratory Therapist.
• Active Vermont state license as a respiratory care practitioner.
• Certification as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or eligibility to take the NBRC written exam.
• Current certifications in BLS, ACLS, NRP, and PALS.
• Recent NICU experience (within the last year) is required.
• Experience using Epic EMR within the last 2 years is mandatory.
