Echocardiography Technician

Job Description

This is a 13-week contract position for an Echocardiography Technician skilled in performing adult echocardiograms and related procedures in an acute hospital setting. The ideal candidate will have experience with advanced echocardiographic techniques and a solid understanding of cardiovascular conditions.

Responsibilities

• Perform adult echocardiography, including 2D-Mode, Doppler (CW & PW), and color flow mapping.
• Conduct studies on valvular diseases, cardiomyopathies, congenital heart disease, and pericardial diseases.
• Execute 2D & 3D Transesophageal Echocardiograms (TEEs).
• Review and interpret echocardiographic results.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation in EMR systems (Epic).
• Provide guidance and support to staff and patients regarding echocardiographic procedures.
• Participate in educational opportunities to enhance skillset.

Schedule

The position requires a 40-hour work week with on-call duties as needed, including floating to other departments.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 3 years experience in an acute hospital setting.
• Current RDCS certification or equivalent (ARDMS or CCI).
• Active AHA BLS certification.
