Registered Nurse - Surgical Trauma Care

This position involves a night shift, following a 12x3 rotating schedule with no block schedules.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse will work on a high-acuity surgical trauma floor, providing care to a diverse patient population including surgical patients, individuals suffering from gunshot wounds, and patients with quadriplegia and paraplegia. The nurse will collaborate with Nursing Support Techs and phlebotomists to ensure optimal patient care.

Responsibilities

• Provide high quality nursing care to surgical trauma patients.
• Manage patient care and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team.
• Conduct patient assessments and administer medications as prescribed.
• Document patient progress using the EPIC system.
• Participate in handoff communications with Emergency Department nurses and admitting unit staff.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a surgical trauma specialty.
• BLS certification required; ACLS preferred.
• Experience with the EPIC electronic health record system is essential.
• Active registered nurse (RN) license.
