Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Histology Technologist with a minimum of 2 years of experience in a Pathology Laboratory setting. The ideal candidate will be responsible for receiving specimens from surgery, accessioning specimens into Cerner, collecting blocks from PA staff, and processing tissue including embedding, cutting, and staining of slides.

Responsibilities

• Perform histological tasks and procedures for tissue processing.
• Accession specimens entering the laboratory and ensure proper documentation.
• Cut and stain slides per departmental protocols.
• Collaborate with pathology staff for optimal specimen processing.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of experience within histology or a related specialty.
• ASCP (HT/HLT) certification required.
• Completion of a formal histology technologist training program or an Associate's degree in chemical, physical, or biological sciences.

Holidays

MUST work 2 major holidays of the 3: Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, New Year's Day; and 1 minor holiday: The Friday after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, New Year's Eve.
