7A - 7P, including self-scheduling with 3 weekend shifts per 4 weeks.

Job Description

The Progressive Care Unit (PCU) specializes in caring for patients with moderate physiologic instability, including conditions such as COPD exacerbation, pneumonia, congestive heart failure (CHF), and care for trach patients. The unit requires ongoing cardiac and respiratory monitoring and management every 2-4 hours while providing care to hemodynamically stable patients.

Responsibilities

• Monitor vital signs and conduct neurological assessments per protocol.
• Administer oxygen therapy via various methods (Nasal Cannula, BIPAP/CPAP).
• Perform continuous cardiac monitoring with timely interventions as necessary.
• Manage blood glucose levels and conduct assessments at regular intervals.
• Collaborate effectively with the healthcare team to enhance patient outcomes.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• ACLS and BLS certification required.
• NIH Stroke Scale certification is a plus.
