Registered Nurse - ICU (MICU)

Schedule

Shift: 7A-7:30P / 7P-7:30A, with weekends required every other.

Job Description

We are seeking a qualified Registered Nurse for our MICU unit. The nurse will provide high-quality care to critically ill patients, utilizing advanced critical thinking skills and best practices in ICU settings.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in the Intensive Care Unit.
• Monitor vital signs and administer medications as prescribed.
• Perform advanced procedures including intubations, central lines, and dressing changes.
• Participate in patient care conferences and collaborate with healthcare providers.
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies and procedures, particularly around floating and attendance.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of ICU experience.
• Active TX RN License (Temp license will not be accepted).
• ACLS, BLS, and NIH Stroke Certification are required.
• Preferred experience in MICU and MSICU.
• Familiarity with Meditech documentation system is preferred.

Dress Code

Scrub color: Navy scrub top and pant, Navy or white scrub jacket. Hair should be neat and clean, and body art must be covered when possible. Visible piercings, other than ears, are prohibited.
