Cardiovascular Technologist
Schedule
Shifts are available from 11AM - 7:30PM or 9AM - 7:30PM, working 5x8 hour shifts or 4x10 hour shifts. Weekends and holidays may be required, and on-call duties are necessary.
Job Description
The Cardiovascular Technologist will assist physicians in various invasive cardiac and peripheral diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, including temporary and permanent pacemaker placements, while also working with circulatory support devices such as IABP and Impella.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and organize specific equipment and sterile trays for each procedure.
- Assist the procedure room team with patient monitoring positioning and preparation.
- Calibrate and test transducers for accurate pressure readings.
- Support physicians throughout diagnostic and interventional procedures.
- Load and operate power injectors and associated sterile equipment.
- Maneuver table controls for physicians as requested, and fluoroscopy for RTs only.
- Calibrate hemodynamic monitoring equipment and analyze hemodynamic data during procedures.
- Calculate and record cardiac output and oximetry readings.
- Utilize digital cine technologies for patient imaging and hemodynamic records.
- Assist with vascular access, sheath removal, and maintaining hemostasis at access sites.
- Manage inventory control and prepare required equipment for procedures.
- Adhere to practice requirements related to Clinical Cardiovascular Information Systems (CVIS).
- Participate in catheterization lab on-call responsibilities per organizational policy.
- Apply radial access banding and recognize all cardiac arrhythmias.
- Assist with maintenance and calibration of diagnostic and technical equipment.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
Candidates must have experience in the Cath lab and Electrophysiology, along with certification as RCIS, RCES, or RT. Knowledge of electrophysiology intra-procedure mapping, ablation, implant devices, and required sterile scrub technique is also necessary.
