CVPICU Registered Nurse

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Night shifts: 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:30.

Job Description

The CVPICU Registered Nurse will provide specialized care for pediatric cardiac patients, including those with congenital heart disease. The nurse will work within a high-acuity environment, where patient ratios vary from 1:1 to 1:2 based on the acuity of the patients.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in a Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Unit.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed and monitor patient responses.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team for holistic patient care.
• Utilize advanced technologies, such as ECMO and CRRT, for critically ill patients.
• Support the family unit and provide education related to cardiac conditions.
• Participate in unit safety and quality improvement initiatives.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of Pediatric Cardiac ICU experience.
• Current RN license in South Carolina or Multi State/Compact RN license.
• Required certifications: PALS and BLS (AHA certified).
• Preferred certifications: ACLS (AHA certified), VAD experience a plus.
