Job Description

The Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for providing comprehensive nursing care to patients during the labor and delivery process. The RN will assist in the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care, closely monitoring both the mother and newborn throughout the process.

Responsibilities

• Assess and monitor patients’ vital signs, and fetal heart rates.
• Provide support and education to birthing mothers and their families.
• Administer medications and manage pain relief options.
• Perform necessary interventions during labor and delivery, ensuring safety for both mother and child.
• Document patient care activities in a timely and accurate manner.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Current certification in BLS and ACLS.
• Experience in labor and delivery nursing preferred.
• Completion of Trinity Skills Checklist and competency testing.
