Registered Nurse (RN) - Emergency Room

Schedule

Shift: 1:00 PM - 1:00 AM, with a guaranteed 36 hours per week.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) functions primarily in direct patient care, demonstrating competent clinical practice in the Emergency Room setting. This position involves triaging patients, obtaining patient histories and vital signs, and performing assessments. The RN acts independently to initiate immediate care in life-threatening situations in the absence of a physician and provides care for both acutely ill and non-acute patients.

Responsibilities

• Perform nursing assessments, intervening appropriately and promptly, and participate in care planning.
• Regularly assess patient/client needs and provide skilled nursing services as prescribed by the physician’s authorized plan of care, adhering to accepted standards of nursing practice.
• Process physician/provider orders accurately and timely, with follow-up on medication changes and order clarifications.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of treatment plans and facilitate changes to improve patient care.
• Actively participate in updating/revising the treatment plan in collaboration with other team members, utilizing current information.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• 2+ years of Emergency Room nursing experience (required).
• Travel experience (preferred).
• Experience with Epic electronic health records (preferred).
• Active American Heart Association BLS certification (required).
• Active American Heart Association ACLS certification (required).
• Active Michigan nursing license as indicated by LARA or Nursys (required).
• Skills checklist, current to 1 year, pertinent to the specialty (ER) (required).
• Two supervisory reference forms completed within the last two years (required).
