Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery

This is a 13-week contract position. Shifts are 3x12 hour Days (06:00 - 18:00).

Job Description

The Registered Nurse in the Labor and Delivery unit will provide exceptional care to patients during labor, delivery, and the postpartum period. The RN will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the safety and well-being of both mothers and newborns.

Responsibilities

• Manage patient care in high-risk labor and delivery situations.
• Perform assessments and develop appropriate care plans.
• Assist in various delivery procedures, including Cesarean sections and vaginal deliveries.
• Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding childbirth process and postpartum care.
• Monitor fetal heart rates and maternal vital signs, ensuring prompt response to abnormal findings.
• Administer medications, including IV therapy, as required.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in Labor and Delivery.
• Current RN license in the state or compact license.
• Certifications: ACLS, AWHONN Advanced, AWHONN Beginner, AWHONN Intermediate, BLS, NRP.
• Prior experience with Epic charting system is required.
