Registered Nurse for Med-Surg/PCU - Day Shift

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for a 25-bed Critical Access Hospital (CAH) to provide care in the Med-Surg/Progressive Care Unit (MSU/PCU). The ideal candidate will be adaptable, willing to flex between departments as needed, and committed to delivering high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities

• Identify patient and significant others’ needs for education and deliver appropriate educational materials.
• Implement preventative measures for patient safety, including following restraint policies and conducting proper evaluations.
• Demonstrate knowledge in the safe operation of equipment used in PCU, Telemetry, and Med-Surg areas.
• Implement and document infection control and isolation procedures utilizing standard precautions.
• Maintain complete and accurate documentation of patient status, nursing interventions, and responses during assigned shifts.
• Accurately document charges and complete physician orders in a timely manner.
• Conduct 24-hour checks of orders and provide thorough shift report to incoming staff.
• Ensure timely reporting of critical lab values to physicians according to policy.
• Maintain and restock emergency carts, as well as general supplies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Active RN license in Washington State.
• Experience in Med-Surg and PCU settings is required.

This position requires a day shift schedule.
