Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position with flexibility for extension up to 26 weeks.

Schedule

Full Time, 40 hours per week; all contracts must run through January, with holidays required.

Job Description

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) will provide direct and indirect resident care under the supervision of licensed nursing personnel. The LPN will be responsible for delivering care appropriate to the age of the patients served and must demonstrate the necessary knowledge and skills to meet patient needs across the adult and geriatric patient groups.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including hygiene, grooming, dressing, and toileting needs, while ensuring a safe and comfortable environment.
• Maintain resident safety and environment, responding promptly to call lights, ensuring cleanliness, and following protocols for equipment usage.
• Meet residents' nutritional requirements including meal delivery and respecting their food preferences.
• Support residents' rehabilitative needs, including range of motion exercises and proper body alignment.
• Report any changes in resident status to the Charge Nurse and adhere to protocols regarding residents' rights and preferences.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• New York LPN Licensure
• BLS (AHA or RQI only)
• 1 year of experience as an LPN, preferably in a long-term care (LTC) or Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) capacity
