Registered Nurse - PACU

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) is a professional caregiver responsible for the care and accountability of a group of patients during a designated timeframe. The RN provides care through the therapeutic use of self, the nursing process, the environment/instrumentation, and in collaboration with other health care team members. Duties are expected to align with established standards of care and the core values of the Division of Nursing.

Responsibilities

• Conduct ongoing and systematic assessment/data collection focused on the physiologic, psychological, and cognitive status of patients.
• Utilize the nursing process to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure the delivery of high-quality patient care.
• Monitor patients post-operatively in the PACU for various procedures including orthopedic, neurosurgery, general, thoracic, podiatry, and GI.
• Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for patients and staff.

Schedule

This position operates on a schedule of 1:00 PM to 9:30 PM.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Valid RN license in the state of practice.
• Completion of a degree in Nursing from an accredited institution.
• Prior experience in a PACU or similar acute care setting preferred.
• Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required.
