This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Night shifts, 3x12-hour schedule from 18:45 to 07:15. Every other weekend required. No call requirement.

Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Neuro Intensive Care Unit Registered Nurse to join our dedicated team. As a comprehensive stroke center, our unit specializes in managing a high volume of stroke patients, both ischemic and hemorrhagic. The ideal candidate will have strong neuro critical care experience, with capabilities in handling complex patient cases.

Responsibilities

• Manage care for patients with neurological conditions, including stroke, craniotomies, and other acute neurological issues.
• Administer medications and blood products as required.
• Monitor patients using advanced technology and instrumentation.
• Perform necessary procedures including central line maintenance, EVD management, and ICP monitoring.
• Maintain isolation precautions and employ proper use of PPE.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Neuro Intensive Care Unit is required.
• ACLS and BCLS certifications are mandatory.
• Experience with arterial line management is preferred.
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start.
