7:00 AM - 7:30 PM with a 36-hour guarantee.

Job Description

This position is responsible for assessing the needs of each patient before and during a surgical procedure, maintaining patient safety. The RN outlines individual care plans, implements, evaluates, and documents care of the patient during surgical procedures. This role provides leadership to the OR team while effectively communicating with patients, families, and various departments.

Responsibilities

• Assesses the needs of the surgical patient and develops a personalized plan of care. Implements and evaluates the plan during procedures, making necessary adjustments to prioritize patient safety.
• Supervises activity in the operating room, anticipates and coordinates schedule changes, assembles equipment and supplies, assists anesthesia as necessary, and monitors the sterile field.
• Communicates effectively with the patient, family, physician, OR team, supervisor/manager, and ancillary departments.
• Participates in staff development through attendance at in-services, educational meetings, and other professional development opportunities.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• 3+ years of CVOR experience - REQUIRED
• Open heart experience - REQUIRED
• Recent travel work history - HIGHLY PREFERRED
• Active Michigan RN License - REQUIRED
• Active American Heart Association BLS certification - REQUIRED
• Active American Heart Association ACLS certification - REQUIRED
• Completion of two supervisory reference forms within the last two years - REQUIRED
