Registered Nurse - Acute Care

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse for an acute care unit with a patient capacity of 30 beds. The RN will provide care for patients with conditions such as CHF, COPD, cellulitis, and pneumonia, among others. This role involves collaboration with a charge nurse and healthcare team, ensuring quality patient care during shift hours.

Responsibilities

• Manage patient care for up to 7 patients per nurse.
• Administer medications and titrate heparin drips based on APTT results.
• Coordinate with nursing assistants (PCTs) to support patient needs.
• Utilize the EPIC charting system for documentation and patient management.
• Monitor telemetry remotely in collaboration with associated techs.

Schedule

This position requires 12-hour day shifts, with weekends scheduled as needed, typically accounting for half of the total weekends within the contract period.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current BLS and NIHSS certifications.
• Active RN license (no specific state requirement mentioned).
• Ready to work with patient ratios of 1:6 or 1:7.

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.
