Registered Nurse - HVI Pre/Post Care

Schedule

This role requires the ability to work a combination of three 12-hour shifts per week, including one mandatory 0800-2030 shift. Available shifts are:

• 0500-1730
• 0600-1830
• 0700-1930
• 0800-2030

This is a 13-week contract position.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse will be responsible for providing care in the HVI Pre/Post unit, which includes moderate sedation recovery for both outpatient and inpatient procedures. The unit is equipped with 21 beds across Phase 1 and Phase 2 care settings.

Responsibilities

• Monitor patients during anesthesia recoveries and sedation.
• Provide pre-operative and post-operative care under appropriate nurse-patient ratios: Pre-op - 1:3; Phase 1 - 1:2; Phase 2 - 1:3.
• Assist with various cases including heart catheterizations, electrophysiology studies, vascular surgeries, and thoracic procedures.
• Collaborate with a team of perioperative care assistants.
• Read monitoring strips and assess patients' needs effectively.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 1 year of PACU experience; cardiac experience preferred.
• Certifications in BLS and ACLS are required.
• Experience with EPIC EMR is advantageous.
