Registered Nurse (RN) - Night Shift

Schedule

Night shift from 6:00 PM to 6:30 AM.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) maintains the delivery of quality care by assuring the nursing care plan is followed, supervising Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees. The RN is dedicated to patient and employee safety, following established guidelines to create a secure environment for all. The role emphasizes teamwork, resourcefulness, and proactive communication.

Responsibilities

• Perform nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission to develop individualized care plans.
• Identify teaching needs and goals of patients/families based on admission assessments.
• Provide timely documentation of assessments, interventions, and patient responses in the medical record.
• Participate in the patient rehabilitation program, utilizing the nursing process to prioritize education and patient care.
• Initiate discharge planning and patient teaching from the day of admission.
• Communicate significant changes in patient status to ensure continuity of care.
• Supervise and train ancillary nursing personnel, delegating tasks appropriately.
• Ensure personal and environmental safety in accordance with hospital protocols.
• Contribute positively to unit function and participate in team-building activities.
• Maintain communication regarding service needs such as supplies and clinical training.
• Assume charge responsibilities as requested following the orientation period.
• Engage in professional growth and pursue continuing education opportunities.
• Prioritize activities for effective patient care delivery.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• BLS Certification Required Prior to First Shift
• ACLS Certification Required Prior to First Shift (CIRH ONLY)
• Minimum of Two (2) Years Bedside Clinical Experience Required
