Registered Nurse (RN) - Night Shift

Night shift: 3x12.0 hours per week.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) maintains the delivery of quality care by ensuring the nursing care plan is followed. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees. Responsibilities

• Perform a nursing assessment on all patients within 8 hours of admission, establishing an individualized plan of care.
• Identify teaching needs and goals related to each patient's diagnosis through collaboration with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team.
• Document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and timely in the medical record.
• Participate in the patient rehabilitation program, providing direct patient care utilizing the nursing process.
• Initiate discharge planning and patient teaching from the day of admission.
• Communicate pertinent information regarding changes in patient status to ensure continuity of care and safety.
• Direct, train, and supervise ancillary nursing personnel, delegating appropriately.
• Ensure personal and environmental safety in accordance with hospital and nursing policies.
• Maintain effective communication with management regarding service needs, supplies, and equipment.
• Assume charge responsibility following the orientation period as requested.
• Pursue professional development and maintain a commitment to quality patient outcomes.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• BLS certification required prior to first shift.
• ACLS certification required for CIRH only.
• Minimum two (2) years bedside clinical experience preferred.
• Completion of at least one assignment with the current agency required.
• PCU experience required.
