Job Description

The Registered Nurse in the Critical Care Float Pool will provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill patients across various intensive care units. A strong clinical background in critical care, particularly within a Level I Trauma Center, is essential for this role. The nurse will be tasked with managing complex clinical situations and demonstrating proficiency in critical care skills and protocols.

Responsibilities

• Float to all critical care units including MICU, Burn ICU, Neuro ICU, Trauma ICU, and CVICU as necessary.
• Provide care and support to patients requiring intensive monitoring and specialized nursing interventions.
• Utilize advanced clinical skills in managing ventilated patients, arterial lines, and administering conscious sedation.
• Interpret and manage dysrhythmias proficiently, with a required evaluation test for competency.
• Coordinate patient care plans and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Conduct assessments and implement appropriate interventions in emergency and non-emergency situations.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Must have a current RN license.
• A minimum of 3 years of critical care experience in a Level I Trauma Center.
• Recent ICU experience within the last year is required.
• Certifications: BCLS, ACLS (TNCC preferred).
• Proficient in telemetry, including interpretation of dysrhythmias.
