RN Intermediate / Step Down Unit

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

12-hour night shifts, from 7 PM to 7 AM, with a commitment to work 2 major holidays and 1 minor holiday during the assignment period.

Job Description

Seeking an experienced RN to join the Intermediate / Step Down Unit specializing in pulmonary thoracic care. The ideal candidate will provide care to patients with high-risk respiratory issues, cardiac thoracic surgery, hepatobiliary surgery, and head/neck surgery. The role involves managing a variety of patient populations, including those requiring respiratory assistive devices such as BIPAP or Optiflow.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to intermediate medical patients.
• Monitor and assess patients in a step-down environment.
• Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Educate patients and families about care plans and procedures.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of recent experience in a pulmonary thoracic specialty.
• Current AHA BLS and ACLS certifications required.
• Preferred certification: NIHSS.
