Registered Nurse (RN) - Night Shift 3x12 Hours

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for maintaining the delivery of quality care by ensuring the nursing care plan is executed effectively. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees, fostering a safe and supportive environment for both patients and staff.

Responsibilities

• Conduct nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission to establish an individualized plan of care.
• Identify teaching needs and goals related to patient diagnoses through collaboration with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team.
• Provide timely patient information and status updates for Initial and Re-evaluation Team Conferences weekly.
• Utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate direct patient care, emphasizing patient and family education.
• Initiate discharge planning and patient teaching from the day of admission.
• Communicate pertinent information regarding changes in patient status to ensure continuity of care.
• Supervise and provide direction to ancillary nursing personnel, promoting effective teamwork and structured decision-making.
• Maintain safety in accordance with hospital and nursing policies and procedures.
• Engage positively with team members and contribute to a collaborative work environment.
• Assume charge responsibilities as requested following orientation.
• Actively pursue professional development and education opportunities in nursing.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• BLS certification required prior to first shift.
• ACLS certification required prior to first shift (CIRH ONLY).
• Minimum of two (2) years bedside clinical experience is highly desired.
• Completion of at least one assignment with the current agency is required.
• Experience in a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) is required.

Schedule

This position involves a night shift schedule, specifically three 12-hour shifts per week.
