Registered Nurse (RN) - Charge Nurse

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) maintains the delivery of quality care by assuring the nursing care plan is followed. The RN supervises LPNs, NAs, and orientees while taking charge of patient care, ensuring a high standard of medical service.

Responsibilities

• Perform nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission.
• Collaborate with patients/families and the interdisciplinary team to identify teaching needs and goals.
• Document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and timely in the medical record.
• Participate in patient rehabilitation programs on the assigned unit.
• Initiate discharge planning from the day of admission and provide relevant patient education.
• Communicate significant changes in patient status to relevant care providers.
• Provide direction, training, and supervision of ancillary nursing personnel, while ensuring a positive unit environment.
• Assume charge nurse responsibilities as requested after the orientation period.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• BLS Certification required prior to first shift.
• ACLS Certification required prior to first shift.
• Minimum of two (2) years of bedside clinical experience is highly desired.
• Charge Nurse experience is required.

Schedule

This position is a day shift role comprising three 12-hour shifts.

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.
