Registered Nurse - Postpartum Care

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Night Shift: 3x12-Hour (19:00 - 07:30). Weekend work required to meet staffing needs.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse will provide care for patients in the postpartum unit, managing both vaginal and cesarean deliveries. Responsibilities include administering medications, overseeing infant care, and supporting discharge education for new parents.

Responsibilities

• Administer blood and blood products.
• Manage drains, epidural pumps, PCA pumps, and syringe pumps.
• Provide wound care and administer medications including Heparin, Insulin, and Magnesium Sulfate.
• Conduct normal newborn care, focusing on thermoregulation and glucose management.
• Support patients with post-operative and postpartum education, including pain assessment and management.
• Float to NICU or L&D as required.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of registered nursing experience required; first-time travelers are not accepted.
• Current BLS and NR-P certification required.
• Experience with Epic charting system preferred.
• Ability to float between sister facilities if necessary.
