Emergency Department Registered Nurse

Schedule

This position requires evening and night shifts, with hours from 3 PM to 3 AM and 7 PM to 7 AM as needed. Weekend work is required every other week and holidays as well.

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for our fast-paced Emergency Department. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality patient care in a critical setting, handling a diverse patient population with various diagnosis types including chest pain, abdominal pain, psychiatric issues, altered mental status, stroke, and trauma. The department sees approximately 100 patients per day and consists of 19 beds.

Responsibilities

• Providing direct patient care in accordance with established protocols and standards.
• Administering IV medications and managing drips including Propofol, Levophed, Heparin, Nitro, Insulin, and Cardizem.
• Monitoring critical patients on ventilators with a focus on respiratory management.
• Collaborating with healthcare teams including hospitalists and pharmacy for comprehensive patient management.
• Participating in float pool as necessary, depending on department needs.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current certifications in BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, and TNCC recommended.
• Active RN license in the state of practice.
• Experience in an Emergency Department setting preferred but not required.

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.
