Ultrasound Sonographer - High-Risk Obstetric Specialty
Job Description
The Ultrasound Sonographer will perform and assist with various types of ultrasound procedures, adhering to protocols established by the radiologists. This role involves preparing and maintaining equipment, ensuring proper patient preparation, and operating ultrasound equipment within a high-risk obstetric specialty practice.
The Fetal Center provides advanced prenatal ultrasound, fetal monitoring, genetic counseling, and maternal-fetal medicine services for pregnant patients with complex medical or pregnancy-related conditions, ensuring coordinated care amongst obstetric providers, maternal-fetal medicine specialists, sonographers, nurses, and support staff for timely diagnosis, monitoring, and treatment planning.
Schedule
This position is scheduled for 8-hour shifts from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday. No weekends, holidays, or on-call shifts are required.
Responsibilities
- Perform and assist with ultrasound procedures following established protocols.
- Prepare and maintain ultrasound equipment for procedures.
- Ensure proper patient preparation prior to conducting ultrasound exams.
- Coordinate care with a multidisciplinary team to manage tailored treatment plans.
- Document and report ultrasound findings accurately and timely.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with all safety protocols.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- 2+ years of experience in ultrasound, specifically in high-risk OB or maternal-fetal medicine.
- Graduate of a 2-year AMA approved ultrasound program.
- Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) with OB specialty required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred.
- Licensed as a Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer.
