Medical/Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) - 12-Hour Days

This is a 13-week contract position. Shift hours are 6:45 AM to 7:15 PM, with a requirement for weekend rotations every other week.

Job Description

Join our dynamic Medical/Surgical Unit as a Registered Nurse, where you will provide high-quality care for a diverse patient population. This unit specializes in the management of various medical conditions, including but not limited to Congestive Heart Failure (CHF), Pneumonia, and post-operative care for a range of surgical patients.

Responsibilities

• Deliver patient-centered care in a fast-paced medical/surgical environment.
• Manage and document patient assessments, medication administration, and treatment plans.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including nursing aides and respiratory therapists.
• Assist in patient education and discharge planning.
• Float to other units as required to support patient care needs.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Active RN license and current BLS certification are required. NIHSS certification is also required for all staff.
• Previous experience in a med/surg unit is essential.
• ACLS and PALS certifications are recommended but not required.
• Familiarity with the EPIC charting system is a must.
