Emergency Department Registered Nurse (ED RN)

Assignment Duration

This is a 16-week contract position.

Schedule

Rotating night and evening shifts (19:00 - 07:30 / 15:00 - 03:30). Required to work every other weekend and holidays as scheduled.

Job Description

The Emergency Department Registered Nurse (ED RN) will provide high-quality nursing care to patients of all ages in a fast-paced emergency department setting. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills and the ability to manage complex patient cases effectively.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and assess patient conditions in the emergency department.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams for patient care management.
• Provide care for patients with various conditions, including but not limited to acute psychosis, respiratory infections, and trauma.
• Perform procedures such as intubation, central line management, and EKG interpretation.
• Manage and support patients through mental/behavioral health crises.
• Document patient care accurately and timely in the electronic health record (Epic).

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in an emergency department setting.
• Active RN Maryland state license or compact license.
• Current certifications in BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, and CPI.
• Experience with Epic charting system.
