Registered Nurse - Cardiac Telemetry

Schedule

This is a 13-week contract position with a night shift schedule consisting of three 12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:30, including weekend coverage every other weekend based on facility needs.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse will provide care for inpatient adults with actual or potential life-threatening multisystem or cardiac conditions. The patient population will primarily include those with cardiovascular diagnoses such as sepsis, myocardial infarction, unstable angina, and coronary artery disease. Additionally, the role involves managing patients receiving IV antiarrhythmic therapy, vasoactive infusions, and anticoagulation.

Responsibilities

• Monitor vital signs and perform blood glucose testing.
• Administer medications and manage IV therapies.
• Provide care for patients with colostomies or ileostomies, and manage feeding tubes.
• Implement isolation precautions and use personal protective equipment (PPE) as necessary.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including physical therapy, respiratory services, and social services.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of charge nurse experience in a telemetry or cardiac unit.
• Current contacts include ACLS, BLS, NIHSS certifications, and a valid South Carolina nursing license.
• Experience with charting systems, specifically EPIC EMR is required.
