Echo Sonographer

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Echo Sonographer to perform diagnostic echocardiograms on adult and pediatric patients within a high-volume hospital setting. The ideal candidate will be responsible for delivering quality cardiac exams and supporting the healthcare team in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform technically proficient 2D, M-mode, and Doppler cardiac exams.
• Coordinate activities with hospital departments, including scheduling exams and transporting patients.
• Assist cardiologists in dictating exams by preparing and measuring M-modes.
• Respond to patient needs during exams and report changes in patient condition.
• Order echo supplies and maintain cleanliness and organization of exam rooms.
• Log patients and exams and file patient records in the department.
• Participate in Performance Improvement activities at various departmental levels.
• Maintain quality control of equipment operation and examinations performed.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• A.R.D.M.S. or CCI registered or registry eligible, or comparable national accreditation required.
• State of New Mexico Echo Sonographer License.
• BLS certification issued through the American Heart Association.
• High school diploma or equivalent; two-year allied health education program is preferred.
• Two years of experience actively performing echocardiograms is preferred.

Schedule

This is a full-time position with a schedule of 4 days, 10 hours per shift (7 AM - 5:30 PM).
