Registered Nurse (RN) - Night Shift

Night shift, 3x12.0 hours per week.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for maintaining the delivery of quality care by ensuring the nursing care plan is followed. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), and orientees. A strong emphasis is placed on patient safety and employee safety, and the RN is expected to embody the core values of patient care and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Perform nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission.
• Identify teaching needs and goals related to each patient's diagnosis.
• Participate in the patient rehabilitation program and provide direct patient care.
• Initiate discharge planning and patient education from the day of admission.
• Communicate changes in patient status to all care providers.
• Provide training and supervision to ancillary nursing personnel.
• Assure personal and environmental safety per hospital policies.
• Participate in team-building activities and maintain a positive work environment.
• Assume charge responsibility as requested following orientation.
• Engage in professional development through continuing education.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• BLS Certification required prior to first shift.
• ACLS certification required prior to first shift (CIRH ONLY).
• Minimum of two (2) years of bedside clinical experience.
