Registered Nurse - Post-Operative/Oncology - Days

Located within a 50-mile radius requirement.

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

12-hour shifts, days from 7 AM to 7 PM. Travelers will be required to work every other weekend, including Saturday and Sunday shifts.

Job Description

As a Registered Nurse in the Post-Operative/Oncology unit, you will provide high-quality patient care to a diverse patient population. You will be responsible for assessing and monitoring patients, administering medications, and collaborating with the healthcare team to implement care plans.

Responsibilities

• Manage and prioritize patient care in a 36-bed unit with a typical nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5-6.
• Administer chemotherapy and manage patients with post-operative complications.
• Prepare for and educate patients and families regarding procedures and treatments.
• Monitor patients for vital signs and reactions to medications.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive care.
• Read and interpret telemetry strips as needed; charge nurse available 24/7 for support.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Must possess a valid RN license.
• BLS certification is required; ONS/ONCC (Chemotherapy Biotherapy) certification is a plus.
• Experience with chest tubes and titration of Heparin drips is highly preferred.
• Previous experience in MedSurg and Oncology nursing is advantageous.
