Registered Nurse - Surgical Unit

This position requires a 12-hour shift from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse in the Surgical Unit is responsible for providing high-quality patient care across various stages of growth and development, from pediatric to geriatric. This position involves thorough assessments, competent clinical skills, and effective communication to ensure optimal patient outcomes and satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Conduct systematic, comprehensive, and accurate assessments of patients.
• Demonstrate competent clinical skills and provide direct patient care in support of the care delivery model.
• Maintain complete and accurate documentation of nursing processes and patient progress.
• Demonstrate professional practice and identify areas for clinical growth.
• Foster patient satisfaction by responding courteously and positively to patients and families.
• Consistently follow safety protocols including National Patient Safety Goals and safe transfer techniques.
• Individualize patient care according to surgical procedures and anesthetic requirements.
• Assume responsibility for directing patient care based on individual needs and conditions.
• Assess patient understanding of surgical instructions and provide education pre- and post-operatively.
• Support timely completion of Pre Admission Testing (PAT) orders based on surgery requirements.
