Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (L&D RN)

Job Description

The Labor and Delivery RN will provide care during labor and delivery to high-risk perinatal patients, ensuring quality nursing practices. The role encompasses responsibilities in the delivery room, antepartum, and postpartum areas. The ideal candidate should have experience in a facility that handles a significant number of deliveries and be well-versed in current practices surrounding labor and delivery care.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care and support for patients during labor, delivery, and postpartum
• Conduct assessments and interventions related to high-risk pregnancies
• Assist in the delivery of newborns, including resuscitation and newborn assessments
• Administer medications and IV therapy as prescribed
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure continuous and comprehensive patient care
• Educate patients and families on care processes and postpartum recovery

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in labor and delivery
• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing
• Certifications: BCLS, ACLS, NRP, AWHONN Intermediate or Relias Fetal Monitoring
• Experience in high-risk perinatal care preferred (200+ deliveries annually ideal)
