Job Description

We are seeking a Travel Registered Nurse for a PCU position at a leading healthcare facility. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality care to a diverse patient population, primarily focusing on those in need of post-surgical and transplant care. You will work closely with a dedicated team of healthcare professionals to ensure the best patient outcomes in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage patient ratios of 1:5 or 1:6, depending on patient census.
• Perform wound and drain care for a large surgical population.
• Conduct frequent lab draws from central lines.
• Administer blood products as needed.
• Utilize telemetry monitoring to assess and interpret cardiac rhythms.
• Provide care for patients with a variety of medical needs, including DKA management and respiratory support.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 1-year acute care hospital experience in a step-down or PCU setting.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications are required.
• Experience with solid organ transplant care (preferred, but not mandatory).
• Knowledge of higher oxygen delivery modalities, chest tube management, and tracheostomy care.
• Strong critical thinking skills, particularly in identifying decompensating patients.
