Radiation Oncology Nurse

Job Description

The Radiation Oncology Nurse provides continuity and quality patient care by functioning in a collaborative role with the Radiation Oncology Team. The nurse will assess and deliver appropriate nursing interventions to address actual or potential patient problems related to disease processes and treatment plans.

Responsibilities

• Conduct assessments and provide nursing interventions for patients undergoing radiation oncology treatment.
• Serve as a liaison between the Radiation Oncology department and other hospitals or physician groups.
• Educate and counsel patients and their families to support coping with cancer diagnosis and treatment.
• Assist in evaluating and examining patients alongside Radiation Oncologists.
• Coordinate care and referrals to alternative resources for recovery, rehabilitation, nursing home care, and hospice services.

Schedule

This position operates on a 4-10's weekday schedule.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Registered Nurse (RN) with current Colorado license in good standing.
• BLS and ACLS certifications through the American Heart Association.
• A minimum of 2 years of RN experience specifically in Radiation Oncology.
