Registered Nurse (RN) - Day Shift, 3x12 Hours

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) maintains the delivery of quality care by ensuring adherence to the nursing care plan. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees, emphasizing the importance of patient and employee safety.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission.
• Identify teaching needs and collaborate with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team to establish goals.
• Provide timely updates on patient information for team conferences and accurately document all assessments, interventions, and responses in medical records.
• Participate in the patient rehabilitation program, utilizing the nursing process to deliver quality patient care focused on education.
• Initiate discharge planning from the day of admission and tailor patient teaching accordingly.
• Communicate pertinent information regarding changes in patient status among care providers to ensure continuity of care.
• Delegate tasks and provide direction, training, and supervision to ancillary nursing personnel.
• Contribute positively to the unit's functioning by fostering a calm and efficient work environment.
• Maintain open communication with management regarding service needs, supplies, and training.
• Assume charge responsibility after the orientation period as needed.
• Engage in professional growth through continuing education and self-study.
• Perform additional duties as requested.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current RN license.
• BLS Certification required prior to the first shift.
• ACLS certification required prior to the first shift (CIRH ONLY).
• Minimum of two (2) years of bedside clinical experience is highly desired.

Schedule

This position is scheduled for day shifts in a 3x12 hour format.
